Some friends call us the shake people, and there are a few groups that we get together with that can't leave until they have had theirs. So the way this came about is that we would invite friends over and give them a shake and they would never finish them, no matter how small they were. We received these hideous and huge cups for our wedding, and weren't using them for anything so we decided to make them the shake challenge. Finally people were drinking all of their shakes even though they were 2-3 times bigger than the ones that we had been making earlier.
One day a group of friends came over with the makings and Edward (our tall African American football player friend) wanted to try a double challenge. Nathan, being the primary shake maker at the time, didn't know how to scale it down to just a single challenge per blender so he ended up making a full blender, 2 challenges, for him. Edward drank his single challenge, the additional blender full, and half of his wifes challenge as well. Needless to say he was sick. To remedy this he went out on the lawn and tried everything he could to get more sick so that he could take care of the problem. He was jumping around, on his hands and knees shaking his tail end, dancing around. Finally he was successful and came back to join us. The remains were on the grass for a few days until it finally rained.
So why am I saying all of this, it's a fun story but we were reminded of it on Saturday when we were having shakes. We and some friends had just finished watching Stardust and were trying to convince Nathan to make us a shake. So sitting in his recliner he decided that the shake he would do is to shake his whole body. I finally convinced him that I don't have the shake shake down so he had to finish making the shakes by doing the shake shake so that the blender would work. Sorry that makes no sense unless you have seen it before. He finally did it, and we all enjoyed our shakes.
